What does Staffing Support Specialists do for me?
Working with Staffing Support Specialists means that we review your resume, help you with your employment application, and learn from you the type of work you like and companies for which you might want to work. We discuss with you the openings that could be a good fit and, with your permission, we reach out to all potential employers. Once you’re matched with a company, we guide you through the employment process, help you prepare for your interview (if necessary) and follow up afterward to answer any questions and talk about next steps.
How quickly can I find work?
We are not an immediate (next-day) placement agency. We aim to find you long-term placement, either by temp-to-perm placement or as a direct hire with one of our many employers. We do NOT just send you to the first opening we have. Instead, we often schedule interviews with several prospective employers within 24 hours of sending out your refined resume. We know you want to start working quickly! Be sure to respond immediately when we call to coordinate interviews.
How does the placement process work?
For the quickest placement, please review our open positions HERE. Once you find a position that interests you, you can apply directly to the role and upload your resume. One of our recruiters will review your resume, schedule an initial screening interview, and discuss employment opportunities with you. We will get your resume in front of all applicable employers and help set up an onsite interview. If this doesn’t work, please utilize our “contact us” feature and upload your resume.
Do I have to pay a fee for your service?
Although some agencies may charge you a fee or percentage of your wage, we DO NOT! Whatever wage you are offered IS what you are paid.
Who do I work for? Staffing Support Specialist or the Employer?
Many positions are temp-to-hire, which means you work for Staffing Support Specialists for about 90 days, after which you will generally be hired directly by the employer. If the position is a “direct hire” arrangement with the employer, you work for the employer from the start. The employer decides how they want to hire new employees.
Is Staffing Support Specialist a temp agency?
No, we are a full-service staffing agency. We do NOT simply send you to an employer when you call us. Our goal is to help you find long-term employment by finding a job that matches your skills and needs. We may be able to provide you several options to choose from.
How often do I get paid?
After your first week of work, you’ll be paid weekly. Your paycheck is automatically deposited to your bank via direct deposit each Friday. You can view your paycheck information via our weekly email or our employee portal. If you do not have a bank account, we can provide a cash card where the weekly deposits are sent.
Why should I work with a Staffing Agency?
We serve as your “one-stop shop” to apply for many different job opportunities, which greatly simplifies your job search. You complete a single application and we reach out to multiple employers, increasing your chances of landing the right job quickly. What does temp-to-hire mean?
Temp-to-hire means you are temporarily working as a Staffing Support Specialists employee at a company. Companies typically take about 90 days to determine whether to hire you directly to their workforce. Important determining factors to getting hired directly include whether you show up every day (and on time!), as well as your ability and interest in performing the required work.
What does direct-hire mean?
While some companies prefer to hire new employees directly to their payroll, they still need assistance with the hiring process. For these types of companies, Staffing Support Specialists helps them with a direct-hire program. Staffing Support Specialists handles all of the upfront work for an opening: posting the job, finding people who are a good match for the openings, and coordinating interviews with the company. If the company decides to make you an offer and you accept, you’ll work directly for that company. The company pays Staffing Support Specialists for their assistance. Job seekers are never charged a fee for working with Staffing Support Specialists.
What if I am on an assignment and decide it is not for me?
We realize that not every job is a good fit for you; sometimes you do not know that until you have started working. If you are on a job and find it is not going to work for you, please contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will attempt to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. As with any interaction, communication is the key. We expect open communication from you, and you can expect the same from Staffing Support Specialists.
Is it true that Staffing Support Specialists only offers temp jobs?
NO! This is another misconception. Staffing Support Specialists may have temporary jobs to place candidates into, but we also offer so much more. This includes contract/assignment work and direct-hire work. Direct-hire positions are those where we simply present you to our clients for hire directly with that company and you are not a Staffing Support Specialists employee.
What should I do if my job duties are different than those that were described to me?
Please notify Staffing Support Specialists immediately, especially if safety is a concern.
What should I do if my assignment has ended?
Be sure to let Staffing Support Specialists know when your work assignment ends so we can consider you for a new assignment.
What should I do if I am injured while on assignment?
If an accident occurs and you are injured while on the job, call Staffing Support Specialists immediately! You are employed by us and covered by our Workers’ Compensation Insurance. We must be notified immediately so that we can make sure you are given care and attention at the proper medical facility.
Can you tell me how long the hiring process takes?
There are many variables that affect the length of time it may take for you to receive a job offer. Once we receive your resume, we strive to interview you within 24 hours. Within 24 hours after your interview with us, we commit to sending your resume out to employers. Some employers respond within a day or so and, if you are also responsive and available, you can receive a job offer in 1-5 days.
Will my interview be over the phone or in person?
Staffing Support Specialists can do either. If you would like to interview in person, please schedule with our office in advance. If you can provide your resume ahead of time, that will speed up the interview process. If you need assistance in creating a resume, we often are able to accommodate this during our interview.
What types of jobs does Staffing Support Specialist fill?

How do you screen your drug test?
Staffing Support Specialists facilitates which ever drug screening requirement provided by the employer. We will share with each candidate whether a desired opening requires a drug screen and type (ie; 5-panel, 10-panel, or hair follicle). We do work with a 3rd party testing facility who will provide us results. We stay in touch with both the employee and employer to provide transparent results.
Will I be assigned a single recruiter or does anyone help me?
A single Staffing Support Specialists team member will typically work with you from start to finish because it simplifies communication throughout the hiring process. Rest assured, that any team member can step in and help you if the need arises. All team members at all office locations work on the same openings to provide you with the best match for your needs.

What is payrolling or referral?
If you find a temporary or permanent employee through your own recruitment, you may still assign them to the Staffing Support Specialists payroll. This makes it easy to utilize employees for short-term workload demands, seasonal help, and hiring freezes, and it takes the hassle out of the payroll process if the employee doesn’t work out.
We also find that many employers refer employees that they recruited to us as a “try before buy” option. In other words, Staffing Support Specialists assumes all risks until you hire the employee directly. In this scenario, there is no minimal length of employment required by Staffing Support Specialists.
Additionally, we have some smaller companies who have no interest in processing their own payrolls. We can process payrolls indefinitely for them.
