What does Staffing Support Specialists do for me?
We connect you with quality job opportunities that match your skills and career goals. Once you’re matched with a company, we guide you through the employment process, help you prepare for your interview (if necessary), and follow up afterward to answer any questions and talk about next steps. You can apply and interview here.
Why should I work with a staffing agency?
Working with us opens doors you might not find on your own. We have direct relationships with employers who trust us to find great people, and we can get your resume in front of hiring managers faster. Plus, we handle the administrative details, advocate for you throughout the process, and give you access to opportunities before they’re publicly posted.
What industries do you hire for?
We specialize in placing candidates across a wide range of industries, including Administration, IT, Corporate, Manufacturing, Care Taking, Warehousing, and many more. If you’re unsure whether your background is a fit, reach out — we’re happy to discuss your experience and explore what’s available. Take a peek at our Job Board to learn more.
Is Staffing Support Specialists only a temp agency?
No! While we do place candidates in temporary positions, we also offer direct-hire and permanent placements. Whether you’re looking for short-term flexibility or a long-term career move, we can help you find the right fit.
How does the job placement process work?
It starts with getting to know you: your skills, experience, and what you’re looking for in a career. From there, we match you with opportunities that align with your goals. Once we identify a good fit, we coordinate interviews, provide coaching and feedback, and support you through the hiring process. If you’re placed, we stay in touch to make sure things are going well.
How quickly can you help me find work?
It depends on the types of roles you’re pursuing and current demand, but we work fast. We do NOT just send you to the first opening we have. Instead, we often schedule interviews with several prospective employers. Some candidates are placed within days, while others may take a few weeks, depending on fit and availability.
Can you tell me how long the hiring process takes?
Every employer’s timeline is different. Some move quickly and make decisions within a few days, while others may take a couple of weeks. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way and let you know what to expect based on the specific role and company.
Will I be assigned a single recruiter, or will anyone help me?
You’ll work with a dedicated Staffing Support Specialists team member who gets to know your background and goals. They’ll be your main point of contact throughout the process. That said, we’re a team — if your recruiter is unavailable, someone else will be able to step in and assist you without missing a beat.
Do I have to pay a fee for your job placement services?
No. Our job placement services are completely free for job seekers. Whatever wage you are offered IS what you are paid.
Will my interview be over the phone or in person?
Staffing Support Specialists can do either, but sometimes it depends on the position and the employer’s preference. We’ll let you know ahead of time how the interview will be conducted and help you prepare accordingly. If you would like to interview in person, please schedule with our office in advance.
Will I be required to take a drug test?
Many of our client companies require drug testing as part of their hiring process. If a drug test is required, we’ll let you know upfront and coordinate the screening for you.
How do you screen for your drug test?
We facilitate whichever drug screening requirement is provided by the employer. We will share with each candidate whether a desired opening requires a drug screen and the type (ie, 5-panel, 10-panel, or hair follicle). We do work with a 3rd party testing facility that will provide us with results. We stay in touch with both the employee and employer to provide transparent results.
Who do I work for? Staffing Support Specialists of the Employer?
It depends on the type of placement. If you’re in a temporary or temp-to-hire role, you’re employed by Staffing Support Specialists. We handle your payroll, benefits, and employment administration. If you’re hired directly by the company, you’re their employee from day one.
How often do I get paid?
After your first week of work, you’ll be paid weekly. Your paycheck is automatically deposited into your bank account via direct deposit each Friday. You can view your paycheck information via our weekly email or our employee portal. If you do not have a bank account, we can provide a cash card where the weekly deposits are sent.
What does temp-to-hire mean?
Temp-to-hire means you start in a temporary position with the possibility of being hired permanently by the employer. It’s a great way to evaluate the role and company culture before making a long-term commitment, and it gives the employer a chance to see your skills in action.
What does direct-hire mean?
Direct-hire means you’re hired directly onto the employer’s payroll from day one. We handle the recruiting and placement process, but once you’re hired, you’re a full employee of that company.
What do payrolling services mean?
Our Payrolling services mean you’ve been sourced or referred by the employer, but we handle the administrative side — payroll, taxes, benefits, and employment paperwork — during your onboarding period. Once you’re fully onboarded, you transition to the employer’s payroll.
What if I start a job and decide it is not for me?
We realize that not every job is a good fit for you, and sometimes you do not know that until you have started working. If you are on a job and find it is not going to work for you, please contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will attempt to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. As with any interaction, communication is the key. We expect open communication from you, and you can expect the same from Staffing Support Specialists.
What should I do if I am injured while working?
If an accident occurs and you are injured while on the job, call Staffing Support Specialists immediately! You are employed by us and covered by our Workers’ Compensation Insurance. We must be notified immediately so that we can make sure you are given care and attention at the proper medical facility.
What should I do if my job duties are different than those that were described to me?
Please notify Staffing Support Specialists immediately, especially if safety is a concern. We’ll work with you and the employer to clarify expectations and resolve any disconnect.
